Carol Joan Klein learned the piano when she was 4, and always dreamed of being a singer. Starry–eyed, she made demos with Paul Simon in high school and dated Neil Sedaka (hence his hit song Oh! Carol), but instead of becoming a famous singer herself she seemed destined to launch other people's careers with her phenomenal song–writing abilities.

That was, until the launch of her second album Tapestry, ranked in 2003 at Number 36 in Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums of all time...

Beautiful is Carole King's heart–warming story, brought to the stage from a book by Douglas McGrath, directed by Marc Bruni with choreography by Josh Prince.
